So, I’ve had about a week and a half of obsessing over every penny that comes in and out of my accounts, and I’ve got a few observations. Not ready for the big takeaways yet, but definitely some thoughts.
I’m a spreadsheet nerd. Sitting down in front of that spreadsheet and watching the charts and graphs transform before my eyes is making this process really enjoyable. I actually look forward to my daily updating, which has actually been happening more frequently than daily.
I had no idea how much interest I was paying. When that charge came through on my card, it floored me. Felt like so much of the good I’ve done this month was undone by that charge, which was one of the highest charges to come through this month. Maybe I need to look into a balance transfer situation?
It’s a darn good thing I’ve hustled my way to some additional income streams. I’m currently in the black—more income than outgo, but there’s a whole lot more month left. (Also, the chart below shows my income so far this month, and I’ve got another regular paycheck coming, so don’t imagine I’m raking in that much side hustle income. I’m guessing my regular paycheck is going to make up about 75% of my income in the end.)
